One Hour Digital Literacy Activities

Purpose: Create an email account and send and receive messages from around the world.

Lesson Notes

Make the group depending upon the class strength.
Ideally not more than 3 students per device.
Break the children into groups and create an email ID for each group.

  • Description

    Children will create an email account and then communicate via this mail account. Children can understand how to create the mail and compose the mail. They can also learn about the setting of the mail.

    Details

    In this activity ask the group of children to send email to another group, each group should then reply to that email as well as forward email to a third group. Instructions on how to create an account, compose an email etc. are available here.

  • Teacher Instructions
    1. Explain the activity before starting the class.
    2. Show the children already created mail id.
    3. Use technical names whereever possible. Example Sent, Compose, Draft, Forward, Reply etc.
    4. At the end of the class explain to the children what they did in this activity.
